The Monk diamond is over 1 billion years old and is worth over 10 million! It is green in colour and is one of the most expensive and rare diamonds in
the world! It was found in 1880 and was bought by a russian nobleman for his wife in 1889. During the Russian Revolution was stolen
from the nobleman's palace in St Petersburg. For 30 years the diamond's whereabouts where unknown until in 1947 it was discovered
in a police raid and was taken from a gang of petty criminals in Moscow. It was then given back to the nobleman's son but he sold it
for an unimaginable amount of money thinking it was bad luck. The new owners of the Monk Diamond were the house of Volkov,
which were jewl salesmen. It was on display there until three years ago it was stolen on a cunning raid by the Bond Brothers.
